AUCKLAND TRAMWAY.

The Service Resumed. Auckland, May 25. The tramway strike came to an end to-day. The service was resumed at four o’clock. At the afternoon conference, after an address by Mr Tregear, the following motion was submitted and carried; “That this Union agrees to the provision contained in Clauses 51 and 52 of the Act of 1 905, referring to the Board of Conciliation; (2) that the Union agrees to the appointment of two members to a Board of Conciliation with full power to act in that capacity and to consider the matter in dispute ; (3) that the Union is willing to accept the finding of such a Board as final, providing the Company does likewise ; (4) that as soon as a guarantee is given in writing by both parties the service be resumed.’’

Subsequently the manager, Mr Walklate, attended the meeting, and on behalf of the Company agreed to these terms, both parties signing a bond agreeing to abide by the decision of the Board.
