MACMAKON’S EXQUISITE PICTURES.
Friday and Saturday Next. Interest is widespread in the appearance at Foxton on Friday and Saturday next, of the delightful living picture entertainment which the Messrs MacMahon have for the past eight months so successfully toured the Dominion. The Messrs MacMahon are in receipt weekly of the latest Parisian picture surprises from the great French firm of Pathe Freres that stand for the last word in cinematography. They are said to be extraordinary and unique, and they are which is more important, exceptionally interesting. The public likes pictures, and their managers make good their claim to the public support by providing the best subjects obtainable on earth or in Paris — which is the heaven of good Americans. Included in the new series embracing as it does, comedy, fantasy, and dramatic story, may be mentioned the following genus of the wonderful world of cinematography: — “ The Magic Mirrors,” “Japanese Women,” “ The Flower of Youth,” “ Easter Eggs,” “ Lost in the Alps,” and the splendidly effective Fairy Pantomine, “The Harlequin,” and the “Magic Toy Shop,” “The Cabin Boy,” “Pierrot’s Jealousy,” “The Haunted House,” “ Her First Bike Ride,” “ A Quiet Hotel,” “ The Maniac Juggler,” “ Any Barrels for Sale,” “The Electric Belt,” “The Hero,” etc., etc. The igifted young New Zealand contralto, Miss Lorraine Tausley, will appear in superbly illustrated ballads.
