A WARNING TO PERJURERS.

Christchurch, May 20Events in an affiliation case took a serious turn to-day at the Magistrate’s Court. Mr H. W. Bishop, S. M., after giving judgment against John Page, and adjudging him the putative father of an illegitimate child stated that he believed Page had committed gross perjury. He had heard the evidence for the com--I'l unant, and he had listened to that given by the defendant, and he believed a deliberate attempt had been made to mislead the Court. He (Mr Bishop) would be failing in his duty to the public if he did not direct a prosecution for perjury. Page was then taken into custody.
