MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.

A meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held last evening, all members being present, Mr B. G. Gower in the chair. After formal business was dealt with, the contractor for the construction of the overflow channel, Mr D. Compton, attended. Upon discussion, it was agreed to make some slight amendments to conditions of contract, subject to the approval of Mr Ward, the Board’s Engineer, and the contractor expects to fix camp and preliminaries, with a view to an early start, within a week or so. It was decided to accept the offer of the Borough Council for use of office, and the clerk was authorised to adjust the question of rent. The consideration of rating and meeting of ratepayers was deferred until a later date, and the meeting terminated.
