ROWING CLUB BAZAAR.
A meeting of all interested in the forthcoming bazaar was held in the Courthouse last Thursday evening, about 20 being present. Mr B, G. Gower, President of the Club, presided.
It was decided to hold the bazaar on the 16th, 17th, and 18 th of June. The Committee reported that they had secured the N.Z. Shipping Co.’s grading shed for the purpose, and also that they had arranged with a number of Maoris to erect a Maori whare iq the building, and also to give hakas and poi dances during the bazaar. The ladies present formed themselves into a working guild, and will meet in the Anglican Sunday school room every Monday and Tuesday evening, and on Wednesday afternoons. The first meeting will be held next Monday. Arrangements for the “Hidden Treasure,” guessing, and other competitions are well in hand, and the function promises to be one of the most successful yet held in Foxton.
