TAYLOR-CARRINGTON COMPANY.
With reference to the forthcoming performance of “Never Despair” at the Public Hall on Thursday night, we quote the following, a press appreciation from the Auckland Star: “ Last night’s audience at the Opera House can have only had one thought— Horatio Spriggins. For Horatio is a stroke of genius. . Played by undoubtedly the drollest comedian seen here for rafany a day, no one could have asked for more than an excuse for his appearance. Willie Edouin at his best was not more comic ; whilst there are subtleties with Mr Taylor that suggest J. L. Toole and the gilt-edged humour of the eighties. The play is good, and the company iu support excellent. But Mr Charlie Taylor’s Horatio Spriggins is the memory and the delight.”
