DROWNING FATALITY.

At Oroua Bridge.

On Saturday evening at Oroua Bridge two Maori girls were drowned. Their names are Pahi and Tera and each was- about two years old. The body of the child Pahi was found by some Maoris about 5.30, hanging on a willow branch above the water. Efforts were made at resuscitation, but without avail. Further search was made by Maoris in boats for the other body. The little children were last seen playing about the pah at 4 p.m., and at 4.30 they could not be found. Constable McLeod, of Palmerston, visited the scene of the accident, and engaged in searching the bank and river.
