THE SHOW.

The great Show of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association has closed for another year. This great exhibition —for truly it is one of the greatest shows of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere —has a far reaching influence for good upoff our many industries. Its educational value to dairymen, pastoralists, agriculturalists, poultry-fan-ciers, horse-breeders, millers, etc., is inestimable. The best in agriculture, the primest in stock are on view. Fanners from north, south, east, and west, rub shoulders and exchange ideas, and the “cocky’’goes back to his selection primed with new ideas and anxious to renew his labours with fresh vigour. It is a great fair ! The side shows and “freaks” provide a topic of conversation for the kiddies for weeks to come. The woman, whose god is fashion, enjoys a ieast of colour and figure and her stunted soul is ill at ease for weeks because she has seen and envied! The crowds! The faces! The dresses! The delightful expressions of the children, and their merry laughter! The raucous cry of the showmen, and the babel of voices is still ringing in our ears. The show of 1907 was a great success.
