The local presbytery which is to be erected on the section purchased from Mr Geo. Colej 7 , adjoining the church property, is to be put in hand at once, the tender of Mr T. Rimmer being accepted at The building, which is to be of wood will be single storey and contains seven rooms together with bath room, scullery, store room, etc. The outward appearance is very striking, being of a modern design, with wide verandah going round the front and each side, with handsome entrance. The rooms are large and airy, all being well lighted by long windows. The hall gives access to study on the left, the size being 14x14, sitting room on the right of 14x14 and the wide passage leading to rear and side verandah. The dining room 16x15 opens from the passage and a large kitchen opens on the right hand while the opposite side is occupied by two bedrooms each measuring The scullery and servants room opens off kitchen while the side passage gives access to the bathroom. The interior will be neatly finished, V there being no useless ornamenta- r tion, and the outside also contains the same idea, contained in all Catholic buildings, namely, neatness combined with simplicity and quality. The design is by Mr J. W. Rough, architect.
