Suggested Innovation by the President. By Telegraph—Special to Herald. Palmerston, This Afternoon. The President of the North Island Brass Bands Association, Mr M. Cohen, has propounded a scheme for making the annual contest a gathering in the nature of the Ballarat and Towoomba musical festivals. He will bring on a discussion at the next annual meeting on the subject. For the contest in New Plymouth in February the following judges have been nominated; — Eieut. Bently. N.S.W. ; W. S. King, Chsistchurch; Stratton, Dunedin ; Eieut. Herd, Wellington ; T. Mellor, Brisbane; E. Hulse, Auckland. Mr F. Newall, of New Plymouth, has been appointed supervisor.
