THE TRAMWAY.

At last Saturday’s meeting of the County Council, Cr McKenzie brought up the question of running the tram more Irequently between Sanson and Foxton. This is not the first time that Cr McKenzie has, advocated a more regular service, but the Chairman threw cold water on the proposition as he appears to be doing again. • What his reasons in opposition are we don’t know, except on the score of parochial jealousy. Cr McKenzie thought if the tram were run four times a week it would be a good advertisement and would prove Of great advantage to the settlers, providing quicker means of transit. The Council agreed to ask the Tramway Manager to make a report on' the subject, after interviewing possible patrons.
