DRESDEN PIANO CO. v GIBBS
Judgment for defendant
At the Police Court yesterday morning, the Clerk of the Couit read the Magistrate’s reseryed judgment in the civil action Dresden Piano Co. (Mr Cooper) v Gibbs (Mr R. Moore) claim for £Bg 5s being value of piano seized and sold by defendant on account of rent due from one Thomas Cook. The Magistrate reviewed the evidence which has already appeared in these columns. In conclusion the Magistrate said he was satisfied that the company’s agent having seen that Mr Cook was apparently a man of substance, sold the piano to him, that it was therefore Mr Cook’s property and was rightly sold under the distress. Judgment for defendant with costs, witnesses 15s, Court costs 1 is, and solicitor £4. gs.
