SLY GROG-SELLING.
Oamaru, June 17. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Margaret Andrews was convicted of selling liquor in a no-license district, fined £lO and costs. The case was the result of a police raid on April 26th last, when a quantity of concealed liquor was seized. The defence was that the liquor was hidden by defendant’s husband for his private use, but the Magistrate held that the latter’s evidence was not credible, and considered the circumstances pointed to sale.
