IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
London, Feb. 7
It is suggested that the Colonial Conference should discuss the project of establishing affiliated squadrons of the King’s Colonials through out the Empire. As an Em-pire-covering regiment, it would be entitled, “ The Imperial Guards,” and would be liable to defend the colonies and the Empire.
The “ Times ” declares the colonial Premiers are not coming to exchange platitudes and attend evening parties, but intending to achieve practical results. They are imbued with very definite views respecting the methods by which the desired results were obtainable. The Government is evident!}' aware that it would not do to let the conference be a failure.
