OPENING A BRIDGE.
Eketahuna, Jan. 25. The new bridge across the Mangatainoka river, near Hamua, was opened this afternoon by the Hon. R. McNab. Messrs Ross and Hogg, M.H.R.’s, and about one hundred people were present. Mr McNab dwelt on the necessity for roads and bridges, and said J the' death roll from drowning was more than from epidemics. Bridges were too olten forgotten by the Government of the day.
