STANBURY-WEBB SCULLING RACE.
What the World’s Champion Thinks. Sydney, Dec. 28. Referring to the defeat of Staubury by Webb, the New Zealand sculler, G. Towns, the world’s champion sculler, states that he was taken aback at the result of the race. He thought Stanbury would win easily, and he thinks the New Zealander’s victory throws new light on the sculling horizon. The colony which has produced so many athletes in every branch of sport, may find one to wear the laurels of the sculling world.
