The School Children’s Meals Bill has been read a third time in the House of Commons, It authorises the London County Council to establish restaurants for children at the ratepayers’ expense. The Government resisted an amendment limiting relief to necessitous children, considering that the cost of such meals to other than the poor could be recovered from the parents.
