The Chief Justice to-day sentenced four prisoners, who had pleaded guilty in the lower court.
George Shaw, ij years, on a charge of theft in Hawke’s Bay, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. James Biggs, against whom were eight previous convictions, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment on a charge of theft. ltd ward Hughes, forgery at Fielding, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
August Kdward Hasse, on charges of incest, got seven years’ imprisonment.
