DARING- BANK ROBBERY.
Perth, Nov. 21,
Yesterday afternoon Mr Jago, manager of the Daydawn branch of the Western Australian Bank, was found behind the counter of the bank. He stated that about three o’clock two disguised armed men entered the bank, and asked for change of a note. On turning round to give change he found himself covered with a revolver. The men bound and gagged him, took his keys, rifled the safe, and decamped. The manager was the only person on the premises. By great exertion he succeeded in getting rid of the gag, and his cries attracted help. The bank authorities refuse to disclose the amount missing. It is believed to be nineteen hundred pounds. Yesterday was pay-day at the mines, and a busy day at the bank. Surprise is expressed that the robbers were not interrupted. The police have made one arrest.
