FORMATION OF A STARBOWKETT BUILDING SOCIETY.

A meeting was held in Mr Perrean’s rooms, Main Street, last evening for the purpose of forming a Star-Bowkett Building Society, convened by Mr RaeHoward- There were present Mess's Hennessy (chair), Dr Mandl, Frankland, Moore, Hornblow, Perreau, Morgan, Hamer, Reade, Aitkin and Jeffery. After a lengthy discussion, in which all present took part it, was proposed by Mr Reade and seconded by Mr Frankland that a building society be formed in Foxton to be called “ The Foxton Cooperative Building Society.” Carried unanimously. The following committee or provisional directorate was elected : Messrs Dr Mandl, Hennessy, Moore, J. Symons, Morgan, Hornblow and Hamer. Proposed by Mr Frankland and seconded by Mr Morgan that the shares be £IOO and limited to three shares per member.—Carried It was resolved that all present use their best endeavours to enrol shareholders, and explain the objects of the Society. Proposed by Mr Reade and seconded by Mr Frankland that a meeting be held on the 12th November to report progress. Votes of thanks to Mr Perreau for the use of room and to the Chairman concluded the meeting.
