MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.
A committee meeting of the above was held in the Manawatu Hotel last evening for the purpose of completing arrangements for the opening of .the boating season, which takes place to-morrow after- 4 noon. Captain Gordon 'occupied the chair and there were also present Messrs J. Gillespie, J. Benge, R. Grace, J. W. Rough, and W. J. Gardner (secretary). It was decided to write for quotations for a few more pleasure boats, as with the increasing popularity of the healthful pastime the club finds that the supply is not equal to the demand ; also to get quotations for clinker fours, it being the unanimous feeling of the members that the club should send a crew to Wanganui this year to compete at their regatta. It was also decided to affiliate with Wanganui in order to be eligible to compete in regattas. Other minor matters were transacted and the meeting rose.
