OBITUARY.
Mrs W. Jupp—aged 53 years. It is our painful duty to record tlje death of the wife of our esteemed townsman, Mr W. Jupp, which took place at her residence on Tuesday night. The deceased had only been ailing since Friday last. The cause of death was heart trouble. All that medical skill could suggest was of no avail and she passed peacefully away as above stated. Mrs Jupp (whose maiden name was Coveney) was born 53 years ago last March at Gravesend, Kent, England. At the age of 23 she was united in matrimony to her late husband, and was a true helpmeet, a thorough Christian, and a devoted and cheerful' wife and mother. During the thirty years companionship she evinced the keenest interest in all her husband’s undertakings. Eighteen years ago she came out to the colony with her husband and resided for a time in Wanganui, Ashhurst and Masterton, finally settling in Foxtou nine years ago. She was held in the highest esteem by all with whom she came in contact. In common with others throughout this and other districts we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing husband and daughter. The remains of the deceased lady were interred in the local cemetery this afternoon and were followed by a large number of mourners. The ceremony at the graveside was conducted by several of the Plymouth Brethren. The coffin was covered with beautiful floral tributes from sympathising friends and Mr Jupp’s employees.
