INSPECTOR OF NUISANCES.

[to the editor. Sir, — I noticed in your report of the last Borough Council meeting that the inspector of nuisances intimated to the Council that the borough was in a good sanitary condition. Surely the inspector does not mean what he says or he presented his report without making an inspection of the back premises of a number of residences. What’s the use of the Council appointing an officer to such a position if he does not make a proper monthly inspection. Eet the inspector follow the butcher’s cart on its round and visit the back yards of a number of householders and perhaps his eyes will be opened. The warm weather is coming on, and if we want to preserve the health of the community steps should be taken to compel residents to clear up certain filthy back premises.—l am, etc., Boko.
