Moutoa Notes.
(Own Correspondent,) Despite Hoods, bad weather, and bad roads, Moutoa has been exceptionally lively this last winter. What with birthday and euchre parties, socials and dances, aud boxing for the young men, the winter has come and gone almost without our knowing, and now the ladies are making arrangements for a return dance to the one given some little time ago by the bachelors. There is no place so dreary as the country in winter and flood time, but on the other hand it cannot be excelled for its beauty in spring aud summer when the weeping wiHows are bursting into leaf and miles aud miles of beautiful grass plain are to be seen stretching along the winding river. No wonder the little birds whistle gaily in such a fairyland, as the country becomes towards the enci of spring. , y , The examination of the local school by Mr Bitick is t'o take place on Tuesday, nth Sept.
