There is an agitation afoot to run a daily mail service from Foxton to Oroua Downs jvlakohi and Sanson, residents in these < T f T!ictS are not satisfied with the existing; arrangements on account of the unnecessary delay. The districts above mentioned could be served with better advantage and more expeditiously from Foxton per medium of the Foxton-Sanson tram, that is provided the Government is willing to pay a small sum to the County Council for the purpose. This sum, added to the increasing traffic on the tramway, would enable the Council to run a daily service instead of a tri-weekly as at present. We understand that a petition will be forwarded at an early date to the Premier praying that the wishes of the settlers be given effect to. We feel sure that so far as Foxton is concerned our leading business men will lend all the assistance in their power to the movement.
