AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE.

A lecture will be given at Foxton in the Masonic Hall, on Monday evening next at 8 o’clock, by Mr Jas. Grant, Supervisor of School Classes on Elementary Agriculture to the Wanganui Education Board. The lecture—we hope this one will be the forerunner of many more-—is open to the general public. Farmers, cud, in fact, anyone interested in gardening should not miss the opportunity of attending. We are living in an age of progress, and ” the tiller of the soil,” who desires to keep in touch with the times and

obtain the best results from his land, should acquire a knowledge ot the latest scientific methods. These classes or lectures are large!}' attended in other parts •Tthe colony, not only by men but by the fair sex. We hope to see a large gathering at the first lecture. We would also suggest to the local School Committee that a small strip of ground be leased for practical demonstrations. This obtains in many State Schools throughout the colony, and is proving of immense educational value to our boys. Perhaps some public spirited citizen will give the use of about an eighth ot an acre free of charge. However, we recommend all interested in cropping and gardening to be present at the first lecture.
