The Vicar referred to the good work Mr Woodward had done in the Parish, and especially at Ashhurst, and to his sorrow at losing him. Mr Woodward, in reply, thanked all those who had so willingly and consistently worked with him at Ashhurst and helped him, especially Mr Metcalfe, whose devoted service to the church as Synodsman, church-warden and Sunday-school superintendent, was so readily given.
