Auckland representatives defeated Wallington at Auckland on Saturday in the Ranfurly Shield contest by 1 r points (a try converted, a goal from a mark, and a penalty goal) to 5 (a converted try). Canterbury defeated Southland at Christchurch on Saturday by 41 points to 3. Albions and Sandon play off the E. Coley Cup final at the racecourse to-morrow at 1.45 sharp. Aibion team for to-morrow : Read, Williams, Edwards, Whibley, Furrie, Overend, Cook, Broad, Evans, Howan, Webb, Klien, J. Walker, Cummerfield, and Riramer. Emergencies, W. Walker, Flint, Cole. Practice to be held to-night. Mr Austin could not come to any conclusion re Albion protest, but suggested the two teams equal in points for Cup play off for the final, and the protest still to be considered.
