Foxton Athletic Club.

At the committee meeting of the Foxton Athletic Club, held at Haywood’s Plotel last evening, there were present: Messrs Mark Perreau (in the chair), E. Healey, J. Jillett, F, Hadfield, E. G. Sutherland, J. Thompson, E. Howe, F. Martin, R. Baker, F. Lawton, A. Shadbolt, and the secretary (F. D. Whibley). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the Railway Department re special guarantee for train from Feilding to Palmerston.—After discussion, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Sutherland, seconded by Mr Shadbolt, “that a guarantee of be offered to run a train from Feilding to sports.

The price submitted by the N.Z. Times Coy. for advertising programme in supplement w£s agreed to, on the motion ot Mr Healey, seconded by Mr Sutherland.

Mr Desmond wrote resigning his seat on the committee, he having left Foxton. —Received with regret. One account was passed "for payment. The Borough Band’s price of £5 to supply music at sports and concert was accepted, on motion of Mr Jillett, seconded by Air Healey.

The bad state of the cycle track came up for discussion, and it was decided that a petition be prepared by secretary, signed by cyclists using the track, and presented to the Borough Council, with a view to the track being attended to by that bodv.

The secretary was instructed to interview insurance companies and ascertain information re the,

insurance of competitors \ also instructed, to further write Mr F. May re forfeiting hall on night of sports., Special votes of thanks were passed to Messrs S. Hickson (bracelet), R. Hickson (silver cream bigT and H. Berry and Co. (tea service) tor presenting these trophies for competition. Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr Haywood for use of room concluded the meeting.
