WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
[by telegraph.— special to herald] Wanganui, This Day. At the meeting of the Wanganui Education Board last night Mr E. Pirani was elected chairman. There were no other nominations. Miss Henderson was appointed assistant teaclier at Rongotea and Miss Scheidt at Mount Cure. The resignations of Miss O’Brien, Warrmgate ; Mr H. W. Lock, Motorumu ; Mr Maunder, Mount View and Mr Fryberg, of College-street were agreed to. The appointment of an assistant to the Campbell-street school was held over pending a consultation with the committee. The addition of a bath-room at Himitangi, as recommended by Mr .Fraser, was agreed to. Mr Pqrcell is. to report re drainage at Taikorea. 1A motion, ..that ..t.h? v ..selection committee should consist of the whole Board was discussed at length, Messrs Purnell, Bennett, Fraser and Carson supporting the motion which was lost. I'he usual committees were set up for the ensuing year.
