Fatal Ending to a Quarrel.

Eltham, July 2. On-Saturday two Swiss farm hands had a dispute. One named John Rollins was going to strike the other disputent, Charles Schicker, who had an axe handle in his hand, with which he struck Rollins over the left ear. Rollins staggered and fell. He wei carried into a whare and dud shortly afterwards. The quarrel took place near Kapouga. Shicker was arrested early on Sunday morning. He made no attempt to get away. It does not appear to have been a drunken row, but there wa* some dispute about a girl. There were two witnesses to the affair. Charles Schicker was brought up in custody before the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of killing John Rollins, and was remanded to the 9th inst. Bail was refused.
