Foxton School Committee.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above committee was held at the Council chambers last evening, there being present; —Messrs A. D. Clemett (chairman), F. W. Fraiildaud, T. Betty, G. Gray, G. Coley, Rev. H. Wilson, and T. W. Wilson (secretary). The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
The head-master’s report was adopted. Re drainage, filling in holes, etc., Messrs G. Coley, G. Gray, and the secretary were appointed a sub-committee to deal with the matter.
The secretary was instructed to write pointing out that blinds for windows of school were necessary at once.
The secretary was instructed to write thanking Foxton Borough Council for their £5 grant. Messrs Clemett, Rev. Wilson, and L. W. Wilson were appointed to wait on Borough Council re technical school.
Re boundary fence, the secretary is to interview Mr Alf. Fraser and see what assistance the Board is likely to give. The secretary was authorised to sell the old organ and range; also instructed to write the member for the district and inquire from him whether it was possible to secure the few rents paid locally to school commissioner.
The Brass Band were given use of room of old school, providing no expense is attached to school committee.
The erection of a horse paddock was left to the sub-committee to deal with.
Leave of absence was granted to Miss McDonogh for sth June.
The usual votes of thanks closed proceedings.
