The Turks have abandoned the siege of Shakara in Yemen, losing four guns. London, Feb. 12. Great Britain’s imports from ( Canada in 1905 increased by three millions. From all foreign countries they increased six millions, and from British possessions seven and three-quarter millions. Exports to Canada increased by one and a*quarter million, to foreign countries twenty-seven and a half millions, to British possessions one and a-half million. The New South Wales loan has closed. • The public subscribed the whole amount. Capetown, Feb. 12. Schaeffer, a German farmer near Capetown, was treacherously murdered and buried in a fowlhouse by a farrqer,.named Basson. IlYhile tile police were disinterring the body, Basson who was secretly watching the operation, committed suicide. New York, Feb. 12. Miss Roosevelt is receiving hundreds *of wedding presents from all parts of the world, including gifts from several sovereigns.
