The Manawatu Show.
Fine weather favoured those on holiday bent yesterday with the result that there was another record attendance at the Manawatu Show at Palmerston North. Special trains commenced coming-in to Palmers - on station early in the day from all directions, and soon the bright attire ol thousands of visitors gave the town a carnival appearance. Foxton sent a large quota of visitors, two special trains from this quarter yesterday being packed. :• Of the Show it may be said that it excelled itself. Many new buildings and other improvements were noticeable since last Spring Show, thanks to the untiring energy of a progressive committee. The cattle, pure bred stock, poultry, implements, etc. shown were all above par. Many competitions were got through without accident, and altogether the Show' can be classed as the most important in the colony. The Association intend making many further imp rovements before next Show comes round, and their interprise must earn for them such popularity from the public as will tend to aid them in their march of progression.
