Foxton Chamber of Commerce.
The quarterly meeting of the Coup' cil of the F.C.C. was held in ihtt Borough Council Chambers yesterday evening, and was attended by, Mr A. Fraser (vice-president), and Messrs Frankland, Hennessy, Barnard and Moore.
It was decided that the Sceretaty , write to the Minister for Railways *wS 1 ■ the District Traffic Manager, urging that better carriage accommodation be provided on the Foxton-Palmerston North line. Also to the Minister in reference to a verandah being provided to the Foxton Railway Sta It was resolved that further pressure be made through Mr Vile, M.H.R., for a return showing the receipts aqd expenditure of the Foxton Wharf. Mr Frankland informed the Council of the stand tak(jn by the Parliamentary candidates in reference to the six questions submitted to them by the Chamber, most of which they . were willingto,support. ; It was also decided that further >it steps be taken to urge the extension of the Foxton wharf, and in connection with that the Secretary ascertain as nearly as possible how much had been expended in overtime at the wbaif during the last twelve months. The Council then adjourned.
