The report of the inquiry • into charges against the Christchurch Post Office officials was laid on the table of the House yesterday morning. Thn Commissioners find that Messrs Willis, Larcombe and West committed a - grave breach of regulation No. 44 of the Post and Telegraph‘regulations, which provides that no officer may. make public any official commutator tion, which he may receive, With regard to the fidelity declaration mad* by Wil'i? when he entered the service, the Com uissieners are inclined to the opinion 1 hat a breach thereof bad not been established. The evidence disclosed that Willis was throughout the prime mover in the matters complained of and Commissioners venture to express the opinion that Willis 4 offences are much more serious than those of the other officers.
