Flaxmillers’ Association.
A meeting of the New Zealand Fiixmillers’ Association was held at the Clarendon Hotel, Palmerston North, yesterday. There were about 15 millers present, Mr Oswald Gardner presiding. The following series of resolutions were carried : “ That a deputation consisting of those interested in the flaxmilling industry proceed to Wellington and interview the Minister and Secretary for Agriculture in personal support of the resolutions passed at the recent conference and to further discuss all matters relating to the protection and fostering of the flaxmilling industry generally.” “That the attention of insurance companies be drawn to the anomalies that exist in insurance against accident; and the high rates of premiums.’’ “ That the'rules drafted by the subcommittee of the New Zealand Flaxmillers’ Association b* adopted.'.' “ That the Government be asked to appoint a man well versed in the working of hemp from the consumer’s point of v|ew to establish a grading system in this colony.” “ That five be considered sufficient to form a quorum, and that this resolution be embodied in the rules."
