Mr J. Woolley, the well-known pro hibition lecturer, arrived at Auckland on Monday by the Ventura. Mr John Stevens states that the report that he might retire from the contest for the Manawatu seat is erroneous —that he intends to go to the poll. Professor Ernest Rutherford, of McGill Uninersity, Montreal, arrived at Auckland on Monday. The Professor’s family live in Taranaki, and he is an old Nelson College boy. Princess Ceoile. sister to the reigning Grand Cuke of Mecklenhergbchwerin, who is to marrv the German Crown Prince, made a State entry info Berlin, accompanied by the Empress. They were accorded a great reception.
