Lord Edmund Talbot has been appointed Junior Lord of the Treasury in succession to Mr Gerald Loder. Lord 9elb®rne, the new High Commissioner for South Africa, was heartily welcomed at Pretoria by the Dutch and British. t Bro. Fox, who has been in the hospital at Palmerston North for some fiirid,- left that institution on Monday and proceeded to a private address. On Wednesday he ttnd«rwsnt an operation for the removal <A ao abscess in the throat, which was sflcdefe#' fully treated. Subsequently, however, bleeding set in so profusely that medi--oat! aid was necessary to stop the flow. Bro. Fo* was considerably weakened by the loss of blood, but is now, though confined to bis bed, progressing favourably.
