Foxton-Heads Railway.
THE MINISTER INTERVIEWED. Several gentlemen proceeded to Palmerston North this morning to attend with the deputation to Sir Joseph Ward, Minister for Railways, in connection with the request that a railway be built from Foxton to (he Manawatu Heads. Among those who went up were the Mayor (Mr B, G. Gower), Messrs Alf Fraser (Town Clerk), G. A. Simpson, and R. Moore. In reply to the representations of the interviewers Sir Joseph Ward said he was fully alive to the value of the locality from the point of view of a health resort, and he would be pleased to bring lhe matter before the Cabinet. The Minister pointed out that there were many requests for public works—more, indeed, than could be provided for, but until a departmental report was received the Cabinet could not give a decided reply. He would do his best in the interests of those concerned.
