Winter Show.

Attention is again directed t® the winter show of the Mnnawatn and West Coast A. and P. Association, Palmerston North, which is now looked upon as the Dairymen’s Carnival of the North Island. The date of the Show is fixed for June zofh to 23rd inclusive. The prize list has been framed on very liberal terms, and embraces fruit, vegetables, farm roots, agricultural seeds and pot plants; in each of these divisions special points prizes are also to be awarded ranging in value from £x is to £3 3s : other sections are provided for home industries and farmer’s separator and non-separator butter. The schools competition is divided into two sections, one for country schools, and on ' for town or borough schoolr. Challenge prizes to the value of £lO ids arj apportioned to each besides prize money and a subsidy of £2 lOS to each school making an exhibit. Collectors of dry grasses, weeds, and insects will find liberal provision made for exhibifing, the same embracing the public schools and the amateur. Altogether the prize list has been carefully compiled, and to those who take an interest in any of the subjects referred to should find sufficient inducement to make an exhibit. Entries for the dairy factory butter and cheese classes have already closed, and it is noteworthy to mention that whereas two years ago this Association only received 50 entries, those for the June show total 141. The exhibits in dairy machinery this year will again be on a comprehensive scale and worthy of a visit from those interested in dairy factory work and dairymen. The poultry show will be held this year by the Manawatu Poultry Association in conjunction with the Winter show. All communications concerning the show should be addressed to the secretary, P.O. box 35, Palmerston North, and entries close on June Bth.
