Robinson, J. 1’ i‘eW, ;ind E. G. Slither - land were appointed to :»dt as a selection committee, , It was mentioned that Mr E. Nasn, one of Manawatu’s Kcp. selectors, had consented to act us referee in the- first competition match, and he was accordingly appointed to take charge of the match on the 13th. The name? of Messrs Fnrrie, Frew. Cunningham and Sutherland were mentioned as willing to take over referees’ duties. Mr Frew moved, and Mr Jillett seconded, and it was carried, " That in case of disputes being considered, playing members of the Executive allow I herns. ;!vcs to be represented by proxy at such meetings.” The districts governing Foxton football were fixed from the sea coast in a direct line with Orona Bridge, down the Manawatn river and across the Shannon Ferry (including the era ployees of the following mills—Flickson and Reeves, Hamer, Coley and King, Cole.v and Stiles, and late Hamer and Bennett’s, thence to Weatherly Crossing (including Porotawhao) and out to the sea coast.
Mr Frew brought np the matter of thoroughly marking out the field of play, and it was decided to give carbide refuse a trial. Committees were appointed to complete t he work, and Mr F. Robinson undertook to provide suitable goal posts. The drawing of the first round resulted:—Mav 13th, Old Boys v. Hma ; May 20th, Old Boys v. Awahou; May 27th, Awahou v, Hnia. The arranging of remaining rounds was left to the secretary, and will appear in the Annual shorlly to he published. It was mentioned that Air Geo. Simpson, president of the Executive, had consented to declare the season open, and that the Mayor (B. G. Gowov, Esq.), would possibly be present. After the usual vote of thanks to tlrchair and to Mr Gray for the use oi the room, the meeting terminated. The Old Boy’s Club wish to thank Mr F. W. FTankland, one of their vice presidents, for the donation of a guinea.
