The Eastern War. ON LAND. a Diversion t« >ward Vladivostok. London, May i. Russian reports state that General Hasegawa’s Sixth Japanese Army, of me hundred thousand men, now at Gensan, will shortly be moving northwards in an attempt to invest Vladivostok. General Andrieff opposed General Hasegawa’s crossing the Tumen. General Lineviteh reports that after capturing five positions in the vicinity of Tunghuahsien, the Russians occupied that town. All the Japanese losses at Mukden have been replaced. The Russians have received fortytwo thousand reinforcements. RIVAL FLEETS. RUSSIANS MOVE TOWARD THE PHILLIPINES. London, May i. It is reported from Saigon that the Baltic fleet is proceeding to the Phillipines where they will meet Admiral Diebogatoff and the Vladivostok cruisers. Part of the Baltic fleet is outside the territorial limits of Dayet, forty miles north of Kamranh Bay, Russian, German and British transports are off Cape St. James and Saigon river, French Cochin China, A naval division has been mobilised to preserve neutrality.
