Manawatu Electorate.
—— TO THE EDITOR OF MANAWATU HERALD Sir, — I observe in your issue of the and May, that Mr Vile has further demonstrated his inability to deal with the important questions required by the electors, who do not desire a simple re-print of a few paragraphs of my previous letter, which is all that is contained in his last communication, but wish to know, without equivocation, why the subsidy for the proposed Shannon-Foxton bridge has not been obtained. The reason first given by him is, by his present silence on the foint, admittedly absolutely untenable, am exceedingly sorry that Mr Vile has determined not to take any further notice of me until next November, and I hope that he will pay me no attention on the sth of that month as the poeition might then be a very grave one. I shall, however, patiently await the good things which are promised and hope that they will exceed, both in number and value, the public requirements which he has obtained for the electorate during the period which he It supposed to have represented it, —I am, etc., John Stevens.
