J. W. Furrie is at present visiting Foxton on holiday leave. He was a competitor at Stratford rports on Tuesday, where he ran second in the 230 Yards. It was “ Jim’s ” intention to compete at Masterton to-morrow, but since witnessing Terry “scoop the pool ” at Stratford in easy fashion, the Foxton ped. does not prefer to waste travelling expenses in the vain hope of downing the Australian axemanathlete. It is a long time since L. J. Furrie has scored a win. Possibly his spell of losses may be broken in the Half Mile at Martoo 10-morrow,
