A Newtown Tragedy.
TWO DEATHS. A double tragedy occurred yesterday morning in a house at Newtown. The front premises were occupied by John Roussell a£ a saddler’s shop. The upper portion was occupied by Mrs Pugh, her daughter, Mrs Hughes and three children. Roussell boarded with the women. About seven o’clock Mrs Pugh went to Roussell’s room to call him, and found her daughter lying on the floor dying, apparen'ly having been poisoned. She rushed downstairs to Roussell and found him in the shop with half his head blown off with a Winchester rifle. Roussell was about thirty vears of age, and was in financial difficulties, bailiffs having been instructed to take possession. It is, also, asserted that the husband of Mrs Hughes had intended to institute divorce proceedings. «
