THE WAR.

DEATH FROM NEGLECT.
LONDON, Feb. 6
General Kuropatkiu reports that General Dombrooski sustained a wounded leg while occupying the village of Chantanchenan, General Oyama reports the repulse of the Russians towards Chantung. The Russians removed 300 dead. Their casualties were 700.
Six hundred Russian cavalry, two companies of infantry, a battery of artillery of the third detachment, simultaneously attacked Chiatailzu on Saturday. The garrison was holding its ground at the moment of .the despatch of the reports. The Daily Express’ St. Petersburg correspondent states the wounded suffered terribly in conveyance from Mukden to Baikal. Hundreds died from exposure, neglect, the shortage of nurses and medical comforts. General Oku’s left has now advanced six miles across the Hunho and is pressing the Russians. Gadke states General Kuropatkin’s irresolution and reluctance to accept responsibility render his recall desirable. Several French correspondents assert that General Kuropatkin is seriously compromised in court circles.
