All Saints’ Church.
DEDICATION FESTIYAtI | Last night (Wednesday) there was a special service at All Saints’ Church, in celebration of the cation Festival. Evensong was sung at 8 p.m. The Anthem Sir John Stainer’s “ What are these that are arrayed in White Robes wtis rendered with nice precision and expression by the choir. The Rev. Robert Young, a former Vicar of Foxton, was the preacher. Taking as his text Hebs. xii, 2, “Looiing unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our Faith,” Mr Young dwelt.upon the features of the Saintly life, to which all Christians are called, urging fiia hearers to “ run with patibhce the race set before them* -The service was a very hearty expi&Sion of ‘ Thanksgiving and Intercession. In addition to the preacher, the following elergy were present: The Rves. A. M. Johnson (Vicar of Greytown), H. S. Leach (Vicar Of Pahiatua), and H. W., Klingender (Assistant Curate at Palmerston North). This morning the Holy Communion was celebrated at 7.30 a.m. The celebrant was the Herd. Hugh S. Leach. The roughness of the weather and the fact that the A. and P. Show is being held this week prevented large attendances; hut still a great deal of encouragement and added strength has come from the yearly Parish Festival. " Next Sunday, being the Sunday within the Octave of All Saints, the services will be of a festal character, and the preacher at evensong wil) be the Bishop of Wellington.
