The Catholic Social.
* • The Social held as a finale to the Bazaar was a pleasing affair in every respect. The floor was in good order, the supper tasty, and the music both timely and tuneful. The floor was literally packed with lovers of the heel and toe art, and the stage was packed with onlookers. It was the early hours of Wednesday morning before the enjoyable gathering broke up. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr G. Dunn. Mr Conlin’s String Band supplied the music, whilst Mrs A. Reeve and Miss Hurley supplied the extras. During the evening, vocal items were contributed by the Misses Hurley and Mr W. Cook, each item bringing forth applause. Mr Cook was assisted with violin accompaniment by his sister, Miss Hilda Cook. Master Jack Becker’s hornpipe and jig was also much admired. At suitable intervals, the remaining raffles were dispensed with, the winners being : Misses Wanklyn, K. Lynch, C. Overend, Mesdames Lord, J. Purcell, B. Spellman, Messrs C. Easton, A. Reeve, V. Rockell, E. Coley, F. Williams, W. Hill, and J. Bowe.
