THE PICNIC.

To all those who had helped in any way to bring about the success ot the Bazaar a river-excursion picnic was tendered yesterday. In the morning the excursionists were taken some distance up theriver, by the aid'’of the Planet and Punt. Lunch was served on board, after which a return was made to the wharf, and after those who could not get away in the morning had been taken aboard, the planet mad way towards the beach inside the Heads. There the party joined in the usual picnic games, after which a start was made for home, the party arriving home at 7,30, all having thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Only the tail-end of yesterday’s storm struck the picnic party, though that was quite sufficient to send most of the holidaymakers home with damp clothing.
